Approximately about a mile south-west of Shorwell, is Yafford Mill, whose wheel is turned by the waters of Shorwells stream.

Wolverton Manor IOW One of Shorwell's biggest attractions is St Peters, a 12th century church. The interior of the church in Shorwell features a very famous 15th century painting of St. Christopher. St.Christopher was a saint venerated by Roman Catholics and Orthodox Christians, he is the patron saint of travellers.

St Peters Church Shorwell The St. Peters church in Shorwell also houses a painting of the two wives and 15 children of John Leigh. There is also an alabaster monument of John Leigh praying, accompanied by his great grandson Barnabas who died at the age of 9 months while Leigh's body was waiting for burial. In St Peters in Shorwell you can find several rare books, including two Bibles, one dates 1541 and the other, a Breeches Bible of 1579. This church in Shorwell is also unusual in that it has three Aisles.
