Lily Allen Pulls Out of Isle of Wight Festival


Lily Allen has confirmed that she will not eb playing at the Isle of Wight Festival this year. John Giddings, the organiser of the Isle of Wight Festival announced that Lily Allens management pulled the plug on her performance at this years event because she has failed to deliver her second album on time.

The Isle of Wight organizers have revealed they may not book a replacement act for Lily Allen and instead may just spend the money the festival will save on environmental green initiatives.

Most of the acts for Isle of Wight Festival – which is already sold out - have been confirmed. The Kaiser Chiefs will head on the Friday, the Sex Pistols on the Saturday, and The Police closing the festival on the Sunday. Also confirmed are The Enemy, James, Kate Nash, Iggy And The Stooges, The Zutons, KT Tunstall, Amy MacDonald, Newton Faulkner, Starsailor, Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong, The Answer, One Night Only, Blackstone Cherry, Delays and more.

But NO Lily Allen :O(

Isle of Wight Walking Festival

Isle of Wight Walking Festival - which is now in its 10th year - is to feature the most comprehensive range of walks ever held in the UK. The Isle of Wight Walking Festival will be held between 3rd and 18th May. The festival aims to have something for everyone from walks designed to help single people find partners, to others aimed at charting the Isle of Wights rock and roll history and dinosaur heritage.

Organised by the Isle of Wight Council the Isle of Wight Walking Festival will consist of 265 walks, including the 72 mile 24 hour non stop walk around the Isle of Wight to a 300 yard “walk around the solar system”. The festival will be launched at Newport Quay by the Isle of Wights high sheriff Alan Titchmarsh as part of the River Festival, followed by a evening with TV’s Ben Fogle at Medina Theatre.

The Isle of Wight Walking Festival is in partnership with the Ordnance Survey and is sponsored by Red Funnel, Wightlink and Millets.

Isle of Wight Zoo Gets New Cafe

The Isle of Wight Zoo is building a brand new purpose-built eco-friendly cafe to replace the old food kiosk at the zoo. The environmentally-friendly buildingwill be constructed from sustainably-sourced timber. The Isle of Wight Zoo is now busy working on the interior walls, floor and electrical services. Once this has been complete the new catering equipment will be installed. This should keep hungry visitors to the Isle of Wight Zoo happy and help them enjoy the day in one of the Isle of Wights top attractions.
